For those of you who find this season difficult, I am sorry. If you see families together and wish you could be with yours, you’re not alone. This may be the hardest time of year for you. These words may not even touch your pain, but I pray they bring you at least an ounce of encouragement.
This Christmas, I have been marveling at what Christmas truly means. Jesus came from heaven to become human like us. From royalty to the dirt of a stable, He humbly came. Not like they were expecting. Not how I would expect the Saviour of the world to come! But isn’t that just like Jesus? His heart throbs for us so much it brought him to earth as a baby. To grow up like us. Feel pain like us. Know love like us. He came as the most vulnerable to uncover the most incredible reality. He desires intimacy with us on a level no other god has gone to lengths for. He chose to come to earth, sacrificing himself daily to the human condition, so that we wouldn’t have to suffer the consequences of sin.
To have needs like all of us do. To be drawn with love for us from heaven to earth. There is no other love like this, the miracle of Jesus.
Merry Christmas, friends :)
